Peer Review Process
The International Journal of History and Atlas Education (IJHAE) uses the double blind peer review system to guarantee the publication of quality, original and ethically performed work. To ensure fairness, transparency and unbiased evaluation, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential during the review process.
Our editorial staff closely collaborate with reviewers and authors to maintain the academic standards of the journal and an efficient and professional publication process.
How the Review Process Works
Step 1: Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscript along with all the required documents in online submission system of the journal.
Step 2: Editorial Assessment
An initial screening is done by the editorial office to ensure that the manuscript:
- Fits the journal's scope.
- Follows the submission guidelines.
- Meets basic quality and ethical standards.
Manuscripts which fail to meet these requirements may be returned to the author(s) prior to the peer review.
Step 3: Double-Blind Review
Appropriate publications are sent out to independent reviewers who are knowledgeable about the subject matter. The manuscript is evaluated by the reviewers according to:
- Originality and novelty
- Research quality
- Methodology
- Clarity of presentation
- Significance of the findings
- References and academic contribution
Step 4: Editorial Decision
After receiving the reviewers' reports, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required
- Reject
The decision, along with reviewers' comments, is shared with the corresponding author.
Step 5: Revision by Authors
If the authors are asked to revise the manuscript, they must take care of the reviewers' comments and send the revised version of the manuscript within the given time. The revised version may be sent for further review if necessary.
Step 6: Final Acceptance & Publication
Upon acceptance of the manuscript by the editors and the reviewers, the manuscript is formally accepted for publication. The article then moves forward through the copyediting, proofreading, DOIs assignment and final online publication.
